I have bought Origin Access and I only have a Mac. Can I play any games? I would love to play Sims 4 and would love to know if the only other option is to buy the full game. Parallels Desktop, is it any good for gaming? A lot time to get right, and even then it's hit or miss on compatibility. The best option today is to limit yourself to games with native Mac ports, or boot camp. You'd be much better off running Windows via Bootcamp to play games. I've had very good. Oct 29, 2019 If you're an old-school gamer and have a hankering to play DOS-based PC games on your Mac, you may have good luck with Boxer. Boxer is a straight-up emulator designed especially for the Mac, which makes it possible to run DOS games without having to do any configuring, installing extra software, or messing around in the Mac Terminal app.

- Hello
You are unable to play Sims 4 without Origin.
Try closing down your computer, then restart the computer and try again to reinstall Origin.
If you are still having issues, try clearing the origin cache files
http://sims4.crinrict.com/en/2014/09/delete-origin-cache-files/
Try clean booting your computer then reinstall origin

My Showcase thread https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/948861/rosemow-s-rooms-showcase - Hopefully someone has a solution for you. I wouldn't jump to conclusions and demand refunds though. It's an issue, definitely, but it could be caused by a numerous amount of things.1
- When uninstalling Origin, it sometimes leaves 2 or 3 files, that might prevent a new install. These files need to be deleted manually, sometimes with the help of an Unlocker tool, then cache files have to be deleted and registry cleaned (via Ccleaner or a similar software). This probably requires a restart. After that a clean install of Origin should be possible, and it should work again.
Afaik it is not possible to run Sims4 without Origin. - Well...I managed to get it installed after restarting computer few times. Now all the games want to install in it again, which will probably take a month with my internet connection. That`s why Origin itself is a bad idea...don`t like to be forced into using something, especially when it performs so badly. I am not one to complain about the game itself, since I choosed to buy it,but when you can`t play it cause of something like this...it just boils my blood. Thanks for the help Moderator_Pierce
- edited September 2017Hello
Sometimes in Origin, there is a message that the game and packs are installing again but after a short while, the message stops. It is Origin checking over files. The game and packs don't renistall again. I hope that is what is occurring in your game also.

My Showcase thread https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/948861/rosemow-s-rooms-showcase - unfortunately you have to run it through origin. i hate origin personally and wish i could run the game through steam or just on its own, but yeah. since the game is EA, they make you use EA's platform. if the game is already installed on your computer, it's not going to reinstall the whole thing. it might be updating or verifying files or something.
- It was installing The sims 3 world andwentures...looks like it found it on computer and it wasn`t in Origin yet. It`s all working now, except for game going black and I have to reset my computer when it happens. I have no solution for that

Hello
When you are playing the game, the screen shouldn't be going black. It would be best to post your dxdiag information here.
To gather a DXDIAG on your computer, do this :
Press and hold the Windows key and the letter R on your keyboard
You will see a Run box in the lower-left corner of your screen
Type dxdiag in the text field
Click OK
Click the Save All Information button, found on the bottom of the DXDIAG report
Then copy and paste the information from where you saved it, to pastebin https://pastebin.com
and post the link to the file here

My Showcase thread https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/948861/rosemow-s-rooms-showcase - Thanks, but specs of my computer are for sure ok for the most demanding games.I do assume something is wrong with graphic card, cause yesterday it all went black while I was watching a movie. At least now I know nothing is wrong with game or screen. I am recording my problems atm,so I`ll be able to prove it to computer company. Meanwhile I loaded games to laptop with much weaker specs, where game works perfectly fine...

It will be good to be in touch with your computer company. You could also try updating your graphics drivers and see if that helps the issue.

My Showcase thread https://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/948861/rosemow-s-rooms-showcase - It’s funny to me how many people have issues with Origin and it’s always us and not them. My computer is brand new and clean. The only thing I have installed is Sims 4 and Origin. But whatever. Getting a refund. I never went through these problems when it was just a hard disk to be installed. If I have to uninstall and reinstall Origin every day it’s not worth it. Gets stuck on loading. There’s nothing in this computer to conflict with the game. It’s new. Done. If I can get hard disk I’ll get a game, but never like this again. Once I download it, I shouldn’t have to keep logging in.

Hello
If you are having issues loading the sims 4 game, repairing the game may help. To do that, go to games library in Origin, right click on the sims 4 picture and click repair.
If you are having issues with origin not loading, try manually uninstalling and reinstalling origin, and see if that helps.
https://help.ea.com/en-in/help/origin/origin/manually-uninstalling-origin/
Try right clicking the origin icon on the desktop and click ' run as administrator ' .

If you have windows: Do Origin start automatically when your computer starts? I had issues with Origin not working properly until I reinstalled Origin and had it start with the computer. Hello @Xas
Whilst you are at a friend’s home or at another place where you can acccess the Internet, put your game into “offline mode” . You do this by clicking on the origin label on the top left handside of the origin screen, and choose the offline mode option from the drop down menu. You will then be able to play offline with no internet.

Mac gamers can enjoy many of the same features that have defined Origin for PC users: including cloud storage to save and continue games, social connectivity via friends list, and more.
One of our great features will be of particular interest for gamers who play on both PC and Mac machines: dual-platform play. For select EA games (that are available on both PC and Mac), you can buy a title once on Origin, and when you log into Origin on either Mac or PC, that same game will appear in your newly unified (Mac/PC) My Games library.
The Mac catalog includes titles from both EA and its publishing partners (such as Warner Brothers and Sega), including smash hit titles like The Sims 4, Dragon Age 2, Batman: Arkham City GOTY Edition, LEGO Harry Potter, Simcity and more.
Can I Play Origin Games On Mac Computer
In delivering great game content, connecting with our Origin offerings on PC and iOS devices, and offering great value to gamers with dual-platform play on select titles, Origin is making it easier than ever before for gamers to connect and play anytime, anywhere. You can download Origin for Mac today at www.origin.com/download (OSX 10.9 or later and Intel Core 2 Duo are required to install the client).
